X17-1460 loudspeaker is the first kit by TLHP. It reasserts all the expertise and the professional knowledge of the team. This kit, including all the components to make a bookshelf loudspeaker with the PHL Audio 1460TWX, it is perfect for music-lovers and professionals who have a sharpened ear and who look for a loudspeaker with a low space requirement. The load is bass reflex with a direct radiation, with a laminar event.

The initial idea was the creation of a compact multipurpose loudspeaker, loudspeaker in kit is designed in a bookshelf size and reveals exceptional dynamism and accuracy. Its analysis power is impressive.

- The driver:
We don't choose PHL this coaxial driver 1460TWX by chance. It is a 17 cm long loudspeaker which offers a great sound coherence thanks to its dome tweeter which are mounted coaxially., ideally positioned with the main membrane behaving like a flag to allow a better presence of the high-pitched frequency. This model is initially devoted to audio professional systems. It provides a tense low-pitched frequency which is very precise and without any rumbling.

- The cabinet:
The designing of the box is easy but effective (precise and fast assembly). The front laminar event allows to get a good position in the low-pitched frequency and a controlled impulse response, in particular when the loudspeaker is put on a proper suspension (it is displayed in the brochure). We use 100 percent birch plywood imported from Finland with quality B/B (18mm thick). This steady material allows to have non radiant partitions, even at a high level.

- The damping:
Only the bottom of the box is covered with a damping wool allowing to get a vented and dynamic low-pitched sound which will not be dull. It is obvious you can add your personal touch to get a different damping according to the expected result.

- The crossover:
The kit only includes condensers MKP ( metallized polypropylene). It is possible to replace some condensers on request, if you need to still improve the transparence in the high-pitched sound, in particular for high definition systems. Do not hesitate to contact us about this. All the resistances are non-inductive and the coils are "air coils". The team has selected these high quality components in order to offer an excellent level of performances for the filtration part for the qualities of the loudspeaker to work at their best.

The two ways of the passive filter are separate and are connected, each one to an input. The back part is thus equipped with two pairs of Athom WT- FB-1160-G terminals allowing the bi-amplification.

- Other possibilities:
This multi-purpose loudspeaker will fit hi-fi or monitoring uses.

- The mounting:
Four AB sound VI-M5x20-CHC screws and four AB sound EP-M5-A claw-nuts are used to set the loudspeaker ( PHL Audio X17 14 60 TWX.) the four crews are provided to set the filter support. Loudspeaker PHL Audio X17 1460TWX is provided with its seal. The eighteen terminals provided allow the connection between the loudspeaker and the filter, and the input of the filtre and Athom WT-FB-1160G.
