I selected this woofer for use in a special custom project enclosure I 3d printed, partly because of its wide angle dispersion factor, partly because of its shallow depth, partly because of its natural steep roll-off above 400hz., and partly for its economical cost.
After installation/listening tests, I find the upper mid-bass to be a bit muted/veiled, but the bottom end is quite well defined and punchy, which I found surprising but welcomed. The crossover point is 300 hz.
Efficiency is quite low, so I had to mute the midrange quite a bit due to bandpass gain in the crossover, but once balanced the blend is quite smooth. I would recommend using this woofer in any project meant for a small-room or near-field environment ( mine is 20 ft x 20 ft. ) to give a full, robust performance without resorting to using a sub-woofer. I am quite satisfied with it. -
