This is an underdog speaker. It is probably the best overall buy out there. There are better drivers, but for considerably more $. The sound great and perform real strong and appear to be able to take some abuse. They have a smooth but distinct bass extension about them. I haven't experimented with their upper extension yet because I was using horns for the next driver, large horns. I used the horns a little lower so x-over was a little lower. Using it with its bigger brother the 10RS was a perfect match. I'm sure that was no accident. Those two were meant for each other. I believe the flat, or nearly flat dust cap plays an important role in its authority over bass. I'm a big fan of flat/slightly concave dustcaps. It's okay with upper frequencies. I do think they were meant to be used with horns next to them. Which there were. Very solid driver. Not overly expensive. Clean enough to use in "hi-fi.

I am a fan of a number of the Pro Faital drivers, but applied to more conventional home high fidelity applications - this one has some specialized characteristics as a Wideband high sensitivity midrange, but in my case the application I see is for Home theater, on wall or in wall designs (due to the shallow depth).

The excellent motor and cone design result in smooth response with good sensitivity over a wide range; with the right porting approach, use in an MT for surround speakers with the right tweeter (say, a BlieSMa T25) or an MTM for mains (with BlieSMa T34) with normal bass management support can deliver true Dolby reference levels even in a relatively large home environment, with a relatively straight forward crossover arrangement, compared with many conventional woofers.
