Speaker Audax HT170G2, 8 ohm, 6.77 inchHigh loss-High compliance rubber surround. Critically damped paper cone. Stamped steel chassis. High temperature voice coil. Aluminium voice coil former. Extended bass response (Fs: 40 Hz). The cosmetic ring (black plastic) can be removed from the basket, then the external shape becomes round and the external diameter is 167 mm. I have a pair of Richter Exculibers (Australian designed and made by Richter).
They have a very lively realist midrange and the upper midrange is bright, true that is accurate. And that is due to the Audax hhd170a2 8ohm driver, truly amazing.
The exculibers have 4 drivers 2× 160mm Audax sub woofers, 1× bass-midrange Audax hhd170a2 (160mm)(3 main drivers have rubber surrouds which are still flexible and no cracking or deterteration) and 1× 25mm aluminiun dome tweeter.
I brought these speakers second hand in 4-4-1998 and they have many 1000 hours of use and a lot of hi volume use.
Many people have listened to them and been very disappointed with the new speakers they have nust bought. And l helped them find a secondhand pair much to their delight. The only thing that l would modify would be protection fuses to provent voice coils overheating. They did last well over 24 years.
