As a hobby I design speakers for myself and for publication on an audio forum and attempt to address value proposition as well as all out performance in different types of design.
What I find in testing and system builds is that the SB26CDC-C000-4 is very easy to work with, having a wide flat response range and low distortion, and a relatively mild ultra sonic breakup mode that is easily tamped with an ultrasonic notch filter, preventing any distortion rise due to resonant amplification of distortion products. The typical breakup peak is at 25kHz and of moderate amplitude, as established by removing the phase shield and measuring response to 40kHz. the Fs resonance is typically at 700 Hz, and allows good performance in two way systems, and also with a Duelund style three way crossover where exacting control of the roll off rate must be maintained down to -20 dB.
